Mohave County Sheriff’s Office is warning the public of a telephone scam. The reporting party said that he has received numerous telephone calls by people with foreign mid-eastern accents telling him that he has won $90,000, or $65,000, or $70,000. The reporting party further said that he even received a check in the mail for $120,000. The instructions stated the he should cash the check at his bank and send them $2,500 to cover the taxes. The RP advised that the manager at his bank indicated the check was fake.
